I've had one of these for a couple years. In that time, I've forgotten the research I did to get it 922r compliant. I replaced the 3 hammer parts, the gas puc, and the grip. I also use Csspecs 8-round magazines. My cousin just DROS'd one of these and wants it 922r compliant, so I'm trying to get my information straight. CSS has a FAQ page on the Vepr12 and 922r.
In the FAQ, they say the muzzle brake counts as a part. My understanding was that since the Vepr12 doesn't come with a muzzle device that the US brake DIDN'T count as a part. Thoughts?
FAQ states Vepr12 needs 5 US parts, I read several other places it's 6?
FAQ states US magazine counts as 3 parts when installed. Why did I change 5 parts on the gun? I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have changed extra parts if not needed. When I got my gun, there were no steel US mags, so perhaps I did it to be able to use 8-round Molots. Does that make sense ie: would there have been any other reason? If he was going to only use 8-round Csspecs magazines, would he only need to change 2 additional parts (assuming the US count is indeed 5).
Thanks for any input.
