Pistol grip stock better for lefties using an auto?

Gents (and ladies),

I've been looking around at semi auto shotguns, mostly for fun in the desert and also for HD. Primary HD is a Mossberg pump, but wouldn't mind having a semi as an option.

I'm new to semis, and have limited experience with shotguns in general. I'm primarily looking at the Beretta 1301 tactical (adjustable LOP is important for my stubby little arms - I'm 5'8" and wear a 32" sleeve on my dress shirts), price seems fair for what I get, and I like the light weight. While I'm open to others, this seems to be a decent choice for me. I've handled one in my LGS and like it.

Question is, as a lefty, does it make more sense to have a pistol grip, 'standard' rifle stock, or does it really matter? I don't mean a true pistol grip (like a bird head pistol grip), but I'm thinking the Mesa Urbino Pistol Grip stock for the 1301.

I'm thinking that if I need to manipulate the bolt release or chamber load (done with my right, supporting hand), it makes sense to have a pistol grip to better keep the gun under control than a standard rifle stock? Am I overthinking this?

I'm also guessing that I may not run into the bolt release 'issue' as my trigger hand is not on the same side as the bolt release?

I originally put a pistol grip on my 870 but got rid of it after a short time. I now run the Magpu stock which has a very nice grip.
I'm right handed for handguns and left handed for rifles (strange I know). I've had no issues with right handed shotguns but they do make left handed ones as well just not as common.

I'm the size height as you by the way. The Magpul allows for an adjustment as well. I'm very happy with the setup.

I do have a Magpul setup on my Mossy and really like it. Somewhat based on that, I wonder if I'd do better with a pistol grip stock.

So I'm clear, I'm not looking to put on a pistol grip, but a pistol grip with a stock.

I've run the 1301 Comp as a lefty with no issues with the traditional stock.

slug-select drills were no issue just holding the gun with my left hand while I reached over to pull a slug from the stock cuff, stuff the slug into the mag tube, bump the shell release and rack the bolt handle to load the slug. the entire time, the gun was on target with just the left hand holding the gun into my shoulder.

Although it is fun to laugh at the guys with pistol grips on the trap/skeet fields.
