20 ga Autoloaders

Can the barrels on a 20 ga autoloader be shortened? Will this affect the reliability for the gun?
I want a youth sized gun but i want the barrel to be 18in to 20in.
Perhaps you folks can suggest a factory gun instead.

Remington 11-87 youth in 20 gauge it's 20" or 21" screw in chokes.

They have one at Oaktree Gunclub.
