Then they're slobs. I don't throw my dishes on the ground after I'm done eating dinner either.

Do you bus your dishes when you finish a meal at a nice restaurant? Do you wipe off the table when you are done at a fast food restaurant? It is about expectations of service.Comment

I shoot at a club that also has pistol shooting. They will not let me pick up my empty brass. So they can stick my spent shells up their behinds. And I rarely see trap shooters picking up their shells because is slows down that clubs cash cow. Besides they usually have teenage clown range rule dicks to pick up shells.
I have been to some private clubs that ask to pick up spent shells. But then again the prices are less and don't have the staff. I get that.Alfred E. Neuman 2024

Exactly, when there's a trash can in front of a shooting station, I take that to mean it's there for trash.
Much like the trash can near the door at the local burger shop.
Sorry, I was raised not to throw crap on the floor. What other people do has no effect on my behavior.Comment

Catch them, magnet on a stick, or grass/leaf rake.
The range I shoot at, is a voluntier run range. Shooters are expected to pick up thier spent hulls. However, there are some who don't. Sticks with magnets on the end are at each trap field, and on the 5-stand, along with large buckets/trash cans. The folks voluntiering at the range do a lot of work to maintain and run the range, and I for one, appreciate it.Last edited by XVIga_Rob; 01-24-2016, 3:22 PM.Comment

I've NEVER been to a sporting clays range that didn't have bins in front of the shooting stations, but I've only been to 40 or 50 different places.
I couldn't tell you why trap or skeet ranges don't have them, because I don't shoot trap or skeet.Last edited by ysr_racer; 01-24-2016, 7:22 PM.Comment

I bought a couple of the Craftsman 30" 15# capacity magnetic pickup tool (non lighted one) for about $15.00. I bought a couple of them in the Chico Sears store a couple of months ago but Sears seems to be out of them on line now. Looks like there's a similar item, cheaper on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/SE-8036TM-NEW-...8Y5XV50A0X0FFD
These are great for picking up shot shell hulls since nearly all brands are plated steel heads. We also use them in the Duck Blind to pick up all of the empties after a shoot. Really saves the back from bending over. They work really well.Comment

I support peace through superior firepower.

Great for picking up hulls where you just don't want to shove your hand in an environment to pick up hulls. My personal example is when I was out doing some high-volume dove hunting. I started picking up hulls and and my guide said not to put my hand in the bushes unless I knew they were snake free.I bought a couple of the Craftsman 30" 15# capacity magnetic pickup tool (non lighted one) for about $15.00. Picks up easily and slides the shells off easily. Why wouldn't you clean up after yourself? This simple tool makes the job fast and easy.
I don't expect everything handed to me. Just set it down anywhere. UnknownComment

What you need, is something called Mojo Pick Stick. I have 2 of these because wife and I shoot semi-autos, they make it easy for us to clean up the trap field when we're done.
What I do, is I strap them to the side of my backpack that has straps, and I carry my ammo and the Mojo Pick Stick that way.
Available on Amazon.com:
Of course, this means you'll be shooting cheaper steel cased shotshells.Comment

I got a mechanics type telescoping magnet. It pics up shotgun shells, even Win AA shells.. and picks up dropped nuts and bolts when working in the garage.
I always leave the range cleaner than when I got there... Dad taught me that decades ago. Shooting, hiking, camping etc always leave it cleaner than you found it.Comment
