    Shotgun plug - stuck

I have an older (mid-80's) model Mossberg 500 12 ga that I put a plug (wooden dowel) in years ago. The problem is the moisture has cause the wood to swell so it is in really-really tight.

I don't want to put any type of liquid down there for fear that will make the problem even worse - help

I've search youtube and done the google-search and (so-far) no luck

try drying it out, and see if it shrinks in size.

Un screw the magazine tube from the receiver....

Mossberg spared no expense with the wood sliver hunting plug...

      Time to clean the shotgun...

      Remove the barrel

Remove the forend and action bars
      Remove the magazine tube

If the spring has any kinks from hitting the plug, replace it
If the spring is weak loading the last shell, replace it

Sometimes you need to clamp the receiver in a padded vice and get some leverage on the mag tube to break it free
