AR 410 upper - safir arms

Not sure if i'm posting this in the right place

So I saw a post in the private sales forum and saw a guy trying to sell his .410 upper for about $700. I'd never heard of such a thing so I researched it a bit more. I came to find out that the poster is asking way too much and that it was manufactured by safir arms in turkey.
I emailed them to ask if they had any plans to sell them again in the USA. They responded by saying they were planning to reenter the market soon. They also asked if I was a dealer. i took their question to mean that they are looking for dealers. To those in the business: someone please reach out to them!! I would love to have one of their uppers some day.

You saw something overpriced in the Calguns marketplace??? Are you sure you know what you're talking about?

If they re-enter the market with the 410 upper they will also need to have ammo specially made for it as it will not function correctly with all 410 ammo. ATI 410 is the only round that would reliably run through this upper. Trust me I know as I have one and it functions great with ATI ammo. Having not seen ATI 410 ammo in a couple years I would have to say it's not available. I did purchase 1000 rounds before it went MIA in the market place.
I have tried several different manufacturers and different loads. Forget any idea to use Winchester ammo its a no go, some Remington Nitro's and Remington Rifled Slugs will function.

Moved to shotgun forum, since the upper in question would make it a shotgun.

Also note that CA assault weapons laws for shotguns are different that those for rifles.

        As a semi-auto shotgun...
It would need a maglock installed at all times, because accepting detachable magazines is a restricted feature.
It can not have a pistol grip and a collapsible/folding stock, because having both of those features is restricted on a semi-auto shotgun.

        Penal Code 30515
        (a) Notwithstanding Section 30510, "assault weapon" also means any of the following:
        (6) A semiautomatic shotgun that has both of the following:
        (A) A folding or telescoping stock.
        (B) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon, thumbhole stock, or vertical handgrip.
        (7) A semiautomatic shotgun that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine.
        (8) Any shotgun with a revolving cylinder.

Can you speculate on why it doesn't work with other ammo?

            OT/FWIW....

If you're a fan of the small shotguns and you ever see an imported Saiga 410, buy it!
