    Rem 1100 tactical help

Hey guys, going to build an 1110 tactical and need some advice.

I have already an 1100 that has 2 barrels (26 and 30) both with screw in chokes and has a quick feed release on the bottom. It has some goofy splash painted stocks as it was a hand be down 3 gun from my step dad.

Anyway I just bought from a friend a like new 1100 from the mid 70's, beautiful wood stocks and it looks like it may have only been fired a few times, it has a 28" mod choke barrel.

So This is what I have to work with, I plan to use the 26 and 30 barrels with the wood stock gun.

I was thinking of building the other gun with a tactical pistol grip stock and I also have a 8 rd extension for it also.

I was thinking of just cutting the 28 mod barrel down to 18.5", will this be fine? how do I do it?

Parts.... what can you recommend? I dont want to break the bank but want decent stuff, what is the popular stock?

    Thanks in advance, Mike

Are you tinkering-around building a 3 gun shotgun for fun?
Are you a 'tinker-er', do you know the difference between an extractor and ejector, or are you a shooter?
Are you a 12 gauge semiauto shotgun shooter who will not tolerate failure to this & that excuses?

Good news if you are a shooter is that there is only one shotgun that clearly light years ahead of all other semiauto shotguns. Bad news is that they cost around two grand. Go to a few 3 gun shoots, watch all the tinkers' 12 gauge autos jam. And if you are brave enough to ask them how much money they already sank into this 12 ga. auto that doesn't always work as it should, you will see that 2 G's is a deal. And that is why I still shoot pumps.

You can not put PGO on models 1100's.

Also, the barrels you are cutting down are worth more then an 18.5" model 1100 barrel. So sell the ones you don't want and buy that barrel.

You want to add a Combat Bolt handle and a Remington Competition Carrier. This is Carrier on the 1100 Tactical Models and the 11-87 Police

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.
