    Import shotguns

Imported shotguns are limited from the factory to 5 rds, I understand. What about ppt of one of the pump Tristar Cobra Tactical shotguns, does it still apply, or can an aftermarket tube mag extension be added to bring it up to 8+1 capacity?

This is OT but I just can't resist. I found this owner of cats hilarious.

      922 (r) would apply, no?
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. 18 USC 922 (r) applies to the person modifying the imported firearm.

        Basically...
If the ammo capacity of an imported shotgun is 5 or less rounds when it is acquired (new or used, does not matter), then Fed 922r parts compliance is required to increase the ammo capacity to greater than 5 rounds.

I'll stick to my import VEPR 12 semi auto.

Love it. Accurate, reliable, and just fun to shoot.

            Imported Shotguns

Imported shotguns are limited from the factory to 5 rd mags...is that correct? If so, if one were to install a +3 tube mag extension on an import pump shotgun would it be legal in the USA...specifically in California??

There was an old owl that lived in an oak. The more he saw the less he spoke. The less he spoke the more he heard. Now, wasn't HE a wise old bird?

...and when you do, note that there has never been an individual gun owner charged with a 922(r) violation, unless it was added to concurrent weapons charges.

The FAL Files has a BATFE opinion letter noting that modifications like OP is considering are not violations, as the original bill was directed to importers v. individual owners.
