Mosberg persuader feed tube

This may be a dumb question. But I have a mossberg 500 persuader. (8 shot feed tube). If I add the +2 extension, which would go past the barrel, would this be unsafe? Or non function able? How far past the barrel do the shots spread?

If you have a persuader, I don't think you can add an extension to it. I believe it has the 500 style closed end magazine tube. You'd need a 590 style open ended tube.

You can always swap to the 590 style barrel & magazine but at that point, you might be better off just buying a new gun.
