Remington 870 Loading Issue

I've had my 870 for several years but as of late I've noticed a change in loading shells into the mag. When loading a shell into mag with the bolt open, the dog latch/carrier goes up to the middle of the barrel (instead of pointing between barrel & mag) not allowing smooth loading while following the latch/carrier. At this point I'm resorting to loading with the bolt closed only. I have replaced the dog latch/carrier spring with the extra power police version with no change.

I have always loaded an 870 with the bolt closed. If the bolt is open, that means there isn't a round in the chamber, so I would drop one in the loading port and close the action, and then continue loading the tube magazine.

I had previously been able to load with bolt open, so it has had a change.
