    DP-12 Shotgun

Hi guys, just wondering if this beauty will make its way to CA? Other then the double barrel feature, it seems the same as the KSG. Just wondering if its CA legal? Any clue? Thanks

I don't see a reason why it wouldn't be legal.

It's not a machine gun(single trigger, but it's only 1 shot per pull).
    It's not a short barreled shotgun(they're over 18").
    It doesn't have a magazine over 10 rounds(it's 2 7 round magazines).

It's just probably not very popular seeing as how it's almost 10 pounds empty(thanks to the weight of basically having 2 shotguns together in one receiver), and kinda of expensive for a pump gun at $1400.

      Sure does look mean though...
Better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not have it.

There was a thread in 2A about this. A lot of people said it was not legal as the gun holds over 10 rounds.

          ehh.. kinda.

There's also some other interesting things to consider about the gun. First, the manual of arms is going to be different compared to every other pump gun out there. Not necessarily in the sense of where controls are, but *pump* *bang* *bang* *pump* *bang* *bang* isn't exactly "normal". Then if you've got a maulfunction like say... a failure to extract from one of the barrels, it's going to jam the whole thing up(this would occur with a "normal" pump gun as well, I'm simply pointing out that it's not like you're really gaining redundancy with this... if anything you're increasing the amount of things that can go wrong within a single gun).

In a free state you could just get a saiga or whatever and go nuts with mag changes. But hell, if the DP-12 is what tickles your fancy, go for it.

Lots of people say lots of things. The funny part about this thing vs. say... the KSG, is that it's very obvious there are two magazines, since they're feeding their own barrel. The KSG you could claim is 1 mag feeding a single action, but this? Yeah, it's 2. Considering that the KSG has been a non-issue, there's no reason this would be. The SRM 12-16 on the other hand, would be an issue since it's a single mag that holds 16 rounds(via 4 tubes).

It is very legal. It is being sold at Turners and you can rent it at Oak Tree Gun Club. I talked to the range staff there, they say the gun runs great and that compared to the UTS and Kel-Tec, it does seem to run better.

Its kind of neat, but too much monies! You could get used to pump, bang bang, pump, i dont think it would be too hard.

Definitly two separate ammuntion feeding devices.

It's just...meh to me. Another pump gun.

It looks like The Fat Boys versiOn of the KSG.

I just watched the Vicker overview of the gun:

I found it interesting that the parent company makes high end shotguns.

Looks like the price is in line with the workmanship.

The whole shoot-twice-then-pump seems awkward; my guess is that anyone used to normal pumpguns will have to retrain themselves.

Ditch the second mag - call it a DP-6 - and I'd be tempted to buy one. It's kind of a shame that there isn't a quality single mag tube bullpup on the market. I just can't bring myself to buy one of those aftermarket bullpup kits...

I've heard a lot of negative reviews about it, not very reliable for a pump

Apparently it has some feeding issues when holding it at non-horizontal angles.

Seems to be a fun range toy otherwise.
