    870 forward grips

What's the best forward grip option for a tactical 870 project (i.e., standard corncobb style or pistol grip)? I'm in the process of installing a factory top-folding stock and was contemplating a forward pistol-style grip as well. Anyone have one of these? If so, can someone recommend a good quality one? Or is there something else I should be looking into?

Keep the standard one, unless youre looking to spend a few hundred(Surefire rail, foward grip etc), the cheap foward pistol grips 99% of the time are junk.

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering if having a foward pistol grip would help disperse some of the felt recoil (since I'm planning to convert to am all metal top folder and all). Any thoughts? Would the combination of a rear and forward pistol grip help disperse the recoil more so than the standard corncobb style forward grip?

If you fire the gun with the stock folded, then yes, recoil feels less in that configuration. Otherwise, I have never noticed a difference in recoil with a forward pistolgrip and full stock vs a standard forend and full stock. Hope that helps answer your question.

Personnally, I don't like the forward pistol grip on "pump guns" as it's actually slower for me to work the pump than with a standard forend.....But your mileage may differ

do not get a cheapo forward grip. i would really recommend the surefire with the integrated light.. it just feels solid on my 870

get the promag one its great since you could put the verticle grip on the side and hold it like a sten put one on both sides and it will keep dracula away
