    Vepr 12 question/help

Hey cal, I recently picked up a vepr 12 and am looking to you for help... I'm an .22 but shooter and 1911 guy (as some of you know) so this is out of my comfort level.

i am considering putting a chaos rail, ccs break, rd m4 tube with stick on it, and attempting to swap the trigger. All overkill and probably silliness in the grand scheme.

curious if anyone has done anything like this and what I he results were? I also wanted to install the ALG trigger, but I am not sure it can be done very easily. Anyone attempted this?

    looking for thoughts and feedback....

    thx in advance,
    B

Keep the stock trigger and spring. All I did was some polishing to the trigger group and rails. I did initially install the CSS modified trigger and JTE spring, but put the stock ones back in. The trigger reset did not feel good with the CSS trigger during function testing, and during use one of the arms of the JTE spring would crawl up over the trigger, so I would have to push the trigger back to position after every shot. Trigger pull is already pretty light in stock condition, so a little polishing is all you need if your trigger feels a little gritty.

As far as the rail and stock swap, not for me personally, but if you like it I would go for it. I have the CSS of the Molot GK01 brake and it works as advertised.

I believe the Chaos rail uses set screws clamping directly against the barrel to immobilize the rail. Don't like that at all.

Keep it stock. Use HDCP 1 1/8oz Birdshot. Don't bother buying any low recoil slugs. Shoot 1k rounds. If you still like the platform, add an RMR reflex sight to speed up target acquisition.

I'm in the keep it stock group. The chaos rail is too much, imo. Spend the extra on slugs

I would just leave the trigger group and do a little polish job on it. I put the CSS Molot GK01 on it and I'm very happy with it. I was thinking about the chaos rail but opted to use an extra section i had from a Troy handguard and drill and mount it to the original Vepr handguard. I have the older version 12 so mine takes standard Ak stocks. So i went with a Magpul moe AK stock with a cheek riser. Still trying to figure out what red dot i want to mount.

Heres my VEPR12 with the mods you are concidering. It also has the modified Tapco trigger and US made gas puck keeping everything. 922r (overkill) compliant.
