Aside from different models/trims being set up for different sports and purposes (ex change comb height, sighting, etc for skeet vs trap vs hunting), is there any significant difference between the different Beretta A400 models?

I guess it depends on what you consider significant.
For instance is 3" chamber vs 3 1/2" significant? When asked what qualities he most valued in his generals, Napoleon said, "give me lucky ones." -
IMO, the different models serve a specific purpose (sporting, hunting, Turkey...). In simple looks and feel, they are all the same to me - barring things like barrel length and chamber size, etc. I was checking out shotguns last week and this is just the opinion I formulated.*********************
WTS:
1. PW 800+ Hydro Multispeed (just the hydraulic unit that also works with Spolar press)
2. PW 800B converted to 800C (12 gauge) with lots of accessories and upgrades
3. Hornady 366 (12 gauge)

The A400 Xcel, Lite, Xplor Action and Xplor Unico are all the same gun, with, as us mentioned, slight differences in stock dimensions, weight, barrel length options, receiver color, etc.
The A400 Multtarget is an A400 equipped from the factory with Beretta's new B-fast adjustable comb and rib.
The A400 Extreme is the only one in the A400 family that can take a magazine extension due it having a different setup for the gas piston assembly.Comment

I have an A400 Xtreme. It's nice. That being said, I'd probably be just as happy with an A300. The Kick Off stock is nice if you are shooting 3 1/2" turkey loads.Comment

I bought a sling and a turkey choke if that helps. Buy one, shoot the crap out of it, use the money you saved by not buying an A400 and either buy ammo or take a few shooting lessons.
If anybody in So Cal want's to shoot mine, ping me.Comment

I personally wouldn't need a limbsaver the recoil is minimal compared to my other shotguns. I just bought a light mod choke and went to town!

I like my 400 xtreme. Way better than my Benelli. I like the breakdown. That is something the 300 doesnt have.Once an Eagle

Had a 3901, excel a400 and now a a400 xplor. Father in law has an old extrema.
IMO, you can't go wrong with any of them. I had the chance to shoot an a300 but was shooting clays so I kept shooting my xplor. The a300 was nice. All three guns (a300, extrema and my xplor) went bang each time. No FTF's or FTE's with cheap loads.Comment
