    Escort Extreme

I just wanted to know if anyone owns or has had any experience with the escort semiauto shotgun. Any info would be appreciated thanks

I have two. The MP-A Tactical pistol gripped 12G for myself and the 20G Youth model for my wife.

I have been very impressed with them so far and have hundreds of rounds through my 12G and maybe a hundred or so through the 20G.

I am 5'8" and find the LOP on the 12G to be a little long for me (might sell it due to that) but otherwise I have no complaints. When I bought it several years ago (when they were first introduced) there wasn't any aftermarket support for them so I modified a heatshield to fit (not perfect but works fine) and also had a 2-shot mag extension modified for it. My range buddy has said he watched me have 6 hulls in the air with it. Other then one hiccup on the first mag tube full, it has cycled with everything to include the cheap Walmart bulk packs.

Escort is made by Hatsan which is a Turkish Company with a LONG history and they are VERY popular in the UK due to the high pricing on the Italian and French shotguns there.

My buddy has one. It took about 100 rounds of heavy loads to get it to function reliably, but since then it runs flawlessly.

I have one, after some screws came out of it, I called Hatasn and they sent replacements and extras. Since then, no issues. Eats anything. It won't bumpfire though.

Before anyone jumps in with a "buy American" comment, the Mossberg 20G semi-auto is a rebadged Turkish shotgun.

AWESOME shotgun for about $400. I have the MP-A. Yes, the stock LOP is pretty long. I think there are replacement stocks for it now. IIRC, there are a lot of rebranded Turkish shotguns out there, like Weatherby.

Thanks guys I've been eyeballing these and the feature I really like is that they have the ability to lock into single shot at a time.

One other thing and you may or may not mind it but when Escort moved the bolt release to the loading gate, it no longer allowed for "ghost loading" of a round on the lifter. The action does allow the weapon to function when ghost loaded as I tried allowing the last round into the mag to pop out onto the lifter and then fired the weapon. It's just that you can't get a round to sit on the lifter once the mag tube is full.

Some of their older shotguns on the used market don't have this new feature.
