    Mobilchoke Confusion

I have a old Beretta 686 Special that I purchased used late '90.
and not I'm having problem buying new choke tubes.

in the picture there is two new choke tube both label Mobilchoke and the one from Beretta actually says 686 on the packaging.
But only the one from Carlson's fit. are there two different kind of Mobilchoke for Beretta? and thread pattern likes different also.

Beretta has changed their chokes a few time over the years to sell more chokes improve the technology.

I am not an expert but the one on the left looks like an mobliechoke but the one on the right looks like mis packaged, bad qc or shady return.

Here is the link for Beretta's how to tell what choke you have.

Here is the Breily same thing.

you know i sort of got sucked in to that mis-packaged route. And gotten another Beretta choke from another retailer, a modified from Midway ( the first one is from Brownells) both have the same label and both do not fit. I guess is Carson's choke from now on.

        I might try Breily.

Mobilchoke is mobilechoke. Both those look like they're made to the same profile. The Beretta one has some rounded looking threads in that pic though.

Carlson's chokes work well, just buy those and be done with it!

Its not going in... it goes in half a turn and feels like the thread is crossed.

I use Beretta "Mobil choke" threaded chokes manufactured by Beretta, Benelli (early M-1 super 90), Carlson, Comp N Choke ,Terror, HS Strut and Pattern Master.

These chokes are used my Beretta 1201F, Benelli M1 Super 90, Franchi Renaissance O/U, Franchi I 12 and two Beretta 390's. All of these "Mobil Choke" chokes interchange between all of these Shotguns with no issues.

I believe you should put in a call to Beretta and let them know about their choke. You may have one that was mis threaded.

Hard to tell in a pic, but yeah..the threads don't look right. Look like they aren't cut deep enough. That will give a similar feel.

I'd get a replacement from Beretta or from wherever you purchased it.

Two different retailer ship the choke with the same thread pattern.
both do not fit , both have 686 on the packaging
                    returning both
                    Note to self
never buy Beretta choke tube for 686 O/U

That seem really odd to me.

My Beretta factory chokes are all flush, but never had one that didn't fit properly.
