    Removing or altering action release button

    Hey all I have a moss 500 tactical and its a pain in the ***** to work that action release button on the first round . Has anyone ever removed or altered it to make it non function ? I have seen the extension levers but I would rather ditch the dang thing.

    if you removed it, what would keep the action locked when you fired the gun? doesn't sound safe to me.

      I've used many Mossberg 500s over the years and never had a problem. If defective, Mossberg will fix it if you ship it to them. Their turn around time is really quick.

      Want to check one thing, how you are trying to activate it. From a right handed shooting position, bring your middle finger under to press it. You shouldn't need to make too much movement in your shooting hand to do so. Also assumes you have the rifle stock and not a pistol grip.

        'Never had a problem with mine and I'd never remove it. How would you eject a live round without firing it? If it's sticking, something's wrong. Fix it properly.

          How is the action release button hard to deal with? I have no trouble with it using either hand...

            I can see no situation where "removing" it would be a good idea or serve any purpose.
