    O/U Broken Firing pin... HELP!

Alright Calgunners I am out of ideas at this point and want to know if anyone has a good idea on how to get a replacement pin. While out killing some clays the other day the top firing pin sheered off, i was in a heated battle for a buck a clay with a friend and this caused me to only use one barrel and go down from winning a crisp honest Abe to a lonely Washington.

    Manufacturer: Sarsilmaz
    Model: Centurion
    Caliber: 12 gauge

I have contacted just about everyone i can think of and no one seems to have firing pins available for this gun. The gun was a gift so while i know it isn't top of the line i never thought i would have this much trouble getting a 1.5 inch piece of steel.

    Any help or suggestions?

A machinist not a parts changer is what you need not like most gunsmiths today. Get a hold of Randal at ar15.com. Or pm me

Bingo. Taking care of things like this is the difference between a real gunsmith and an armorer.

Save the parts(aside from machining a completely new part, there may be another method or two to repair the existing firing pin), find a real gunsmith, and prepare to wait(they'll likely have a backlog ahead of you) and it's not going to be as cheap as replacing a $10 part.

The first thing I'd suggest is posting the area that you're in so people might be able to make recommendations for a local smith.

        ^^^What they said.

A quality machinist could most likely fabricate a new one based of the dimensions of the old one.

Since it looks like you may need to have one made, bite the bullet and have a spare set made for the future.

Your Sarsilmaz looks amazingly similar to a Baikal IZH27 (Also sold here as the Remington 310 Spartan). Since it's Turkish there's a super good chance it's a copy of that shotgun. Take a look at the breakdown schematic from Numrich. The firing pins (13 & 14) look similar to yours. Good news is, Numrich has those pins in stock for $17.30. Though, this was listed just under "Baikal" not IZH27.

Have you tried contacting the manufacturer? They will sometimes send out replacement parts for free.

Thanks all for the suggestions, i am in Simi Valley BTW.

I contacted the manufacturer and they never responded, maybe my Turkish wasn't good enough lol.

I tried Midway, Numrich, Cabelas, CTD, the importer Century arms and Eaa, all said basically they did not have parts and wouldn't any time soon.

Based on alot of you guy's advise while on my break today i got a hold of a few machine shops, all said they could fabricate me up pins some didn't have any idea as to the cost to do so. A couple shops quoted me a minimun of 1 hour shop time at the 80$ rate and possibly 2 hours for both pins.

I did some more searching and i found another forum where someone was having the same trouble as me, they were told the Mossberg Silver Reserve O/U uses the same exact pins as my Sarsilmaz, i guess he got a set of Mossbergs and he responded to the post saying they were a perfect fit for his Sarsilmaz.

I went ahead and ordered the pins from Mossberg today, they said about a week or so and they should be here in hand. Here's to hoping they fit!

Wilit- The pins in that diagram do look similar, if the Mossberg pins don't work out i will definitely give the Baikal pins a try.

Thanks for the replys guys, i certainly appreciate the help. I will make a post wether or not the Mossy pins work in my Sarsilmaz.

                Fingers crossed

Even if its not a direct fit you might still be better off starting with something that is close. Way less machining.
