Youth Shotgun (trap / skeet)

My kids are finally getting big enough to take shooting and wanted some suggestions on youth shotguns. Is the Super Bantam the right place to start? Other options? Right now just thinking about trap and skeet. However, they may want to start joining for ducks and pheasants.

Can't say, I've never meet them. 4' 1" 7yr old or 5' 6" 14yr old ?????

Options: Buy a shotgun with wood stock , cut to size and add stock spacers as they grow.....spacers can bought for 10 bucks or so in 1/2 inch sizes

Started my 12 year old family member on a Browning superposed 20 gauge. Her 14 year old sister who is 90 lbs wringing wet used a Beretta 3901 12 gauge. Just depends on what fits them and their level of worry about recoil. Just make it fun!

Escort makes a pretty nice semi-auto Youth model in 20G but the barrel is only 20". Is that long enough for trap/skeet?

Thanks. They are 12 and 9. I was going to just do the cut down thing as that is what my Dad did for me 40+ years ago on a 870. Gonna grab something this weekend.

My 12 year old grandson used my 20 ga semi auto (28" barrel) and managed to break 9 targets his first time out. He is not big in stature, so the gun was a bit of a wrestling match for him.
