    first time trap shooting

I just got back from my first time shooting trap. First thing I suck at this game, but I had a blast.

Also this is the first time out with the new O/U
This is only the beginning of a great times to come.

lets just say the birds were very safe tonight. I shot well under 50%. For now I suck but I will get better.
My new O/U is a Browning Citori White Lightning and it's oh so nice.
I went to the Auburn trap club, very nice place and nice people plus it's close to home.

Thats great, It takes a little time to get used to it. I enjoy shooting trap it's good action shooting (Wait till you do doubles). Welcome to a great sport.

Missing clays are still better then the best day at work.

Trap is awesome! Even with a pump shotgun.

Save yourself some big money on this game and pay the local pro to teach you to shoot. Do this before you blow a bunch of cash on ammo and birds ingraining bad habbits into your shooting.

Training is cheaper that holes in the air.

You did buy a great gun, you kid is going to love it when you get old.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

sprintcar, we need to get together and dust some clays!
What chokes and ammo were you using?

I was shooting from the bottom (under) barrell with the mod choke that came with the gun.
The ammo was some old reloads that we needed to use up. They were 1oz. loads with 7.5 or 8 shot I can't remember.
I really think I need to pattern the gun just so I know were I'm shooting.

Yeah, I just bought a Remington SPR310. It's keeping my LMT lower company at Ade's, waiting for the 10 day...

I can get it next week...

when I was there I asked if they gave lessons. They do not but did say they would hook me up with a quality shooter on the weekends.

Update: I went again last night and did much better I hit about 70% of the birds. I worked more at making sure my mount and cheek weld were correct and it was a huge help.
