    choke tubes

I have a pair of Winchester 101s that are fixed choke I'm planning to start hunting again and know I have to use steel shot. Can you suggest a gunsmith to have choke tubes added to my barrels.

Bob Day in Pico. Google Americhoke, he's local and does a good job.

I'm not familiar with what's available for Winchesters, but have you considered just buying an adjustable choke barrel (assuming there is such a thing for your gun)? I'm not sure what the pricing difference would be versus having your existing barrel reworked. I had the same issue with a Wingmaster 870. I wanted to keep the "originality" of having the original, fixed choke barrel, so I just bought another barrel with the remchoke system. New barrel and 3 chokes was less than $150. Just a thought.

The Winchester 101 is a O/U. But I agree with your advice for single barrels shotguns with removable barrels.

I'm assuming this revolves around the Steel Shot issue. What are the guns presently choked?

It they are Mod or more open....check with Winchester, you may be GTG
I don't know which grade 101 you have....lossing resale/collectors value may or may not be an issue

One is a skeet gun with skeet on both barrels and the other is a field gun with full and improved modified

Estrom I looked into getting a choked barrel and couldn't find one at all but I think of I did it would be cost prohibitive.
