Been keeping an eye on this shotgun as an interesting range toy and its price seems to have dropped into the $700+ zone on gunbroker.com, making it reasonable.

For those who have it, got a quick question: Is this shotgun difficult to maintain in terms of cleaning and lubing?

A great weapon. More than a range toy. A shotgun with good sights is as good as a rifle.

Try to find one locally instead of gunbroker. They are available.

Mine has an EoTech. Easy for my eyes to shoot fast and accurately.

I have one. It's a lot of fun, and pretty easy to maintain: nothing too difficult involved in a field strip.

Honestly, though, it's a range toy. Mine's been okay reliability-wise, but I've heard about enough people having problems that I don't trust it. The feed port is the same as the ejection port, so you can get nasty misfeeds that take a long time to clear.

The other issue is that your non-trigger hand is REAL CLOSE to the muzzle. Normally with a pump you want to rack it as you fire to let the recoil help you rack it. That's not a smart move on the KSG, as if your hand slips or your vertical grip breaks then it's quite possible to blow off your hand. At least two people have done this already.

It's a ton of fun at the range, but there are good reasons I've got a traditional shotgun for HD.

Just brought mine home today so I can't help put much, but I can tell you that I believe she's gonna be a fun one to play with. I just got done installing some upgrades that I bought while she was in jail and I can't wait to take her out shooting.

I'm pretty sure this only happened with an aftermarket pistol grip, mounted forward on the pump stock. The add-on pistol grip broke off on the forward motion and caused the hand to fly forward.
even then, it is a bit of a stretch to get your hand all the way out in front of the muzzle. But that could happen with any pump shot'y of the same length.

Here's mine. And I think the angled forward grip, with a handstop is perfect for this gun.
Very easy to break down, clean and maintain. Mine has never had a failure.

Have one and love it. Added some mods (carolina metal masters selector switch) and stainless steel followers (say 200 top)

Worth every penny. Has replaced every other shotgun I own.

2. Do not pull the trigger, when your hand is in front of the muzzle.

Spend more time on the system, I have almost 2k rounds through mine and unless I short stroke it, it is utterly reliable.

That said I also pump it while I fire, use a magpul handstop, gives you perfect purchase.

Yeah this is on the shooter for using a cheap vertical grip that broke.

This is why you don't go cheap.
