1/5/2021 Note: Sorry, I'm no longer making kits (and I don't have any left). For those who wish to try their hand at making this themselves, here is some information I put together a while back:

(B)A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon, thumbhole stock, or vertical handgrip.

A standard Benelli M4 C-stock ("skeletonized" stock) is legal to own in CA, but it cannot be used in its factory configuration on a Benelli 11707. It CAN be used on a model 11717, as the buffer tube is not notched to allow for adjustment. However, Benelli no longer sells the 11717 as far as I know. Those of us with an 11707 must modify the C-stock so it cannot be considered an adjustable stock.

You will need:
1) 6-32 thread, 1/4" or 3/8" long set screw
1) 6-32 tap
1) #36 drill bit
1) pin (I used a small section of wire coathanger)
1) Allen key of the same size as the set screw

Also, to clarify what a setscrew actually is, see image below. They can be purchased from any hardware store.

Also, any time you want to change the stock position while inside CA, just remove the fire control group first to make sure it's not semi-automatic.

Outside CA, just remove the setscrew and use the stock as normal, put it back in before you return.

Bumping this necro-thread for anyone who might have a skeletonized stock for their M4 and is concerned with the new (or old, for that matter) AW laws.

Very good to know. Just joined the workforce rather recently, so saved for when I can afford nice things. Looking forward to having a M1014 clone. Wonder how much a smith will charge for this, as I am digitally and not mechanically inclined...

After breaking a tap trying to do this myself, I took it to a machine shop to have them extract the broken tap, and re-drill and tap it for me. They charged me $100. It's probably cheaper if they don't have to extract a broken tap first

Wow, that is a much better price than I was expecting! Thanks for letting me know, and thanks for going through the trouble so that we can all learn from your efforts. The biggest thing I learned in college is that I have a lot more things to learn!
