    Barrel protector

I saw a magnetic barrel protector used to wrap the barrel where it rested against the top of a gun rack at the range today. It was made of leather and had a fuzzy inside. Wrapped around the top part of the barrel. Instead of the barrel resting directly on the rack. Tried to google the item, but no luck. Anyone know where these are available?

I've seen magnetic protectors before, they just stick to the end of the barrel so you can rest it on the ground, can't say that I've seen anything as fancy sounding as leather with a fuzzy sleeve for use against a rack. Considering how simple the construction would be it's entirely possible they made it themselves. All it would really take is stitching together some leather, felt, and a magnet or two.

Thanks Bigbearbear. Never thought about calling it a barrel taco.

I would think some cheap neoprene would work also. Like a old mouse pad or something. $16 bones seems like a lot for something I'm sure to loose.

$16 is a little pricey. They are nice, but , I'm going to try to fabricate one myself. Then if I lose it I won't feel bad.

I had an old beat up wetsuit that didn't fit any more, must have shrunk, made a few barrel tacos... used the rest for packing materials.

Yep, I hate it when it happens, a real tussle until you figure out what happened... they do make great barrel tacos though.

They'll start to feel tight if you eat too many tacos, along with the skinny jeans and t-shirts.

It's the cold water that makes them shrink....
