    Ithaca back in business

    Looks like Ithaca is back.

Wish they would come out with an LAPD spec M37 DSPS. No disconnector would be nice, but I could live with one.

Guess till then I'll just have to suffer with my thrashed 37 M&P.

If we thought they had a real chance of getting some law enforcement sales, we'd start making accessories for them. M37 was always a fine tactical shotgun, and often prefered by motor units because of the single port at the bottom of the receiver (one less hole for road dirt to enter).

We'll wait and see for now.

I love the bottom eject, great for lefties as well as righties. I heard they will be introducing a low end set of doubles as well as a semi auto.

There is only ONE Ithaca I want, the Ithaca Roadblocker 10 GA.. Had a chance a few years back on one new in box at a great price, been regretting that ever since. I think when that gun came out they were marketing it to law enforcement as guaranteed to stop a vehicle with one shot, with that matte grey finish and solid build, it just feels badass.

I remember my old 37 w/o disconnect... That thing could throw lead scary-fast. Just careful not to have a hang-fire.

We had one of those in the shop about 6 months ago. It was a freakin beast. Really heavy, but it put a big smile on anyone's face who weilded it....

I was chatting with a FFL at the Del Mar gun show about the reproduction Ithaca WW2 "Trench gun" 12 gauge w/ bayo lug he had for sale. It has a 2 3/4" chamber and can cycle/fire all rounds while holding down the trigger(Is that what you guys mean by disconnect?), he said careful around the exposed hammer which can bite if you're not careful. The heat shield is bonus tacti-cool points!

It's a cool design! I do like how the shells eject downward. It's different.

EDIT: The shotgun I saw at the gun show looked like this:

Did I see a Winchester repro(it was brand new w/ modern packaging)? I could almost SWEAR I read Ithaca on the packaging , the receiver was minimal of markings. But, shotguns with exposed hammers are no where to be found on Ithaca's website. Weird.

May be a Chinese copy of the trench gun that went on the market ~1 year ago or so. Imho, ithaca is not the maker.

Yeah, that's what a disconnect does, keeps you from having TOO much fun.

For now, they're only selling direct. There's no dealer network set up yet (most gunshops don't know they're even back in business). According to the website, dealers will be added in the future. For now, contact them direct and have one shipped to your FFL.

The particular gun you're talking about/looking at is a copy of the Winchester Model 97 pump. The same Chinese company does make a copy of the M37 too.
