    Saiga 12 iz109

A friend of mine is looking to sell his saiga 12.
He has put about 200+ RDS through it.
The saiga would come with 2 10rd mags, a 10rd promag drum mag, couple of promag 5 rd and the one that came with the saiga for $700.
Good buy or not a good buy?

Never owned a shotgun so this will b my first. I know they r banned for importation. It seems on gun broker its going about $700 to $800+ new.

Have you shot it? I heard there's a lot of cycling issues and accuracy with follow up shots. It's pretty ammo picky

Yea I've shot it. It had some cycling issues with certain ammo. But u can adjust the gas system.
I want to shot it again before I decide. I just wanted some peoples opinion and if it was a good deal

Honestly your friend is giving you a friend deal. I think it's a really good deal, especially if it comes with all the mags. Any other modifications? Also keep in mind you can get a kit from CSS specifically for the saiga12 to dramatically improve reliability. I have a Vepr12 with a trs25 on top and its ton of fun all day long.

I have four of the Saiga 12's 2 that I use and 2 NIB. One of them I had to pull the barrel and drill an additional gas hole (only had two) to get it to cycle. Its my favorite semi auto shotgun, I like it more than my HK Benelli M-1 or Benelli M-3

$700 in todays market seems fair for what he's offering.

I second the CSS reliability kit. I had my piston micro-sliced/cerakote product. It works great.

IIRC they were around $275 initially, then around $425 when people learned they could convert them to AK style and then $700-1200+ when the ATF's shotgun study came out. These numbers are based on my extremely faulty memory.

Wow that was cheap. About 3 or 4 yrs ago or so u could get the pistol grip for about $700.
                    Damn prices climbed really fast
