Shotgun ammo info guide

Too bad the "Dispelling myths and offering sound advice on what type of shotgun to buy for home defense, writer Bob Campbell stresses practice, training and choosing the right load for your shotgun for the ultimate in self-protection." link takes you to Federal Ammo for sale and not to useful information.
As a noob I just learned this about ammo - if you shoot it well, and the composition suits your body, then stick with it and ignore the opinions of others. Me n my shoulder wish I had!Comment

Unless someone told you that you needed to shoot 3-1/2" turkey loads, you could probably use some assistance for form and fit. It makes a difference.Comment

Seems like a fluff piece simply designed to get people to click on links that lead to sale pages instead of actual info.Comment

lol, it's CTD. I'm shocked they put that much fluff into it in the first place. They actually hid most of the "buy this" behind a few lines re-worded from some generic wiki articles.
To be a shotgun ammo guide, that doesn't even bother to indicate wtf a dram is(I know what a dram is, my point is that they didn't even provide enough info for someone wanting to learn how to read what's on the box), that's kinda pathetic. Heck, they don't even mention that unfired shotgun shells can actually be slightly different lengths even if they're all supposed 2-3/4".Comment

Oh, oh, I know! At least I hope I do. Shotgun chambers are measured for the UNROLLED cartridge after firing, not for the length before firing. So although ammo may have different lengths while still crimped, once it's fired they should all measure 2 3/4", etc.If you are wondering if you can get a LTC in Riverside County: THE ANSWER IS YES!

As a shotgun newbie, I found the article informative.
Especially what 12 gauge, 20 gauge, etc. refers to.
I get their emails with their ads and other informative articles as well.
I don't like what CTD has done in the past but nobody is forcing any of us to buy stuff from them.
Meanwhile, I will continue to read some of their informative stuff.
Thanks for the link.Comment
