    Ammo source

I am certain that many of you clay folk reload, but I need to find a good place for retail. Unfortunately, the current free shipping promo at Cabela's excludes ammo. I have yet to fully decide upon 7.5 or 8 for my personal preference and either 1oz or 1 1/8 oz is fine.

I am "eyeing" Smokey Mountain Guns & Ammo https://www.smga.com/default.aspx because they offer $9.00 flat rate shipping which offsets the case price. While my Google-Fu is top notch, I would appreciate input on good sources.

    Thanks!

Does Smoky Mountain charge $9 per case or $9 per shipment? They have decent prices on the 1oz. #9 that I like.

        Shipment.

I too buy retail for my shotgun ammo, I really should start reloading but have been too busy. Plus, both wife and I shoot 2 to 3 times a week and that is way too much reloading to do.

These are the sites I use:
          1. Cabelas. Wait for the $5 flat rate shipping offer and sales of birdshots. When those 2 things come together, I order a lot in one go.

          2. Targetsportusa.com. Free shipping if you order a case (which we all do anyway...). Their selection of birdshots have not been very good lately but they had Fiocchi target loads previously which I ordered.

          3. Basspro.com. Free shipping for orders $50+, but unfortunately, there is sales tax for California residents. Still, it can sometime work out to be cheaper.

Some times, I simply run out of ammo while before I can get another deal online. When this happens, I'll go pick up those Federal Multipurpose 100 shell case from Walmart. They're selling for around $24.95 currently, not too bad a deal. I "pad" my ammo supply with those until I find another deal online.

Federal bulk pack at Walmart. $25 per 100...give or take.

For just busting clays id go 1oz regardless of where you buy it from. Was shooting with a group last week and was handed a few 1 oz shells and the shot felt smooth

I love them for 7.62x39, 308, 45 and 9, but I dont know how they stack up price wise wish shotgun ammo
