Did they say what caused the cracking? Mine has the same problem, and it's relatively new. I noticed it the last time I cleaned the gun after a hefty range day, but twice as bad.

The only comments the letter said was use high brass. But I was using low and high brass with no issues. But when I used some universal Winchester low brass. Then I started having issues. But keep in mind I was shooting both federal and winchester the same day. Maybe it's the low brass thing in not sure.
