Really happy with my $50.00 shotgun

Picked it up from my FFL01 yesterday. I am very happy with this shotgun, I bought it for $50.00 at the Santa Barbara Historic Arms Show a couple of weeks ago. It will be perfect for my shotgun students and my 16 year old son who has outgrown the little 20 ga. single shot that he shoots. This is the same gun but it is a 12 ga and is full sized with a 28" full choke barrel whereas the little 20 ga is a junior 3/4 size gun.

It is a Companhia Brasileira De Cartuchos, also known as a Kmart Shotgun. I bought the 20 ga version 32 years ago on my 18th birthday. This one belonged to the sellers relative, had been sitting in a closet for a few decades. It doesn't look as if it has ever been shot much, the bore is like a mirror and had a nice layer of dust in it.

I love a good deal and a barely used, reliable (my 20 ga. probably has 7,000 rounds through it with nary a break or repair) shotgun for $50.00 qualifies in my book as a good deal.

Nice. Now, go buy a couple boxes of clays, a case of shells and bring your son over for an afternoon.

BTW, my dad has bought a few of those to play around with and has even shot a couple 25s with them on the trap range.

$50 can't go wrong.

I do hope your son is able to withstand the beating his shoulder will get from that single shot bruiser. May want to consider adding a thick Limsaver or KickEez to lessen the pain a little.

It will wear a Limbsaver and we pretty much only buy the slowest, wimpiest 1 oz 1145 fps target loads. He is a strapping 16 year old, he will dig it. CSA, going to take you up on that soon. For 16 yard trap, there is no reason anyone can't shoot 25s with a gun like this. I have even with the Jr. sized .20 ga, even though it doesn't even come close to fitting me.

Ha, ha, good one! No, I'm not Brazilian but maybe my subconscious thinks I am? If so, I am missed out on Carnival this week. The 20 ga was all I could afford when I was a poor 18 year old back in the 80s. Wish we could still buy inexpensive Brazilian shotguns at Kmart!

OMG... I have one too! it was a Kmart blue light special back in the 70's I think it was 79.95, my son shoots it now and and loves it.

I paid $79.00 for my 20 ga back in the early 80s too! Out of all of the guns I own, I think these have been the best value. No fuss, no muss, they just work, were cheap and can take birds or clay pigeons just fine. I used to go rabbit hunting with mine when I was younger, it's definitely more challenging to hunt with single shot.

That's a, great gun to teach with. It's will make you son think about his shot more. When he out grows that, I have seen people cut them down add a cheap red dot and use them for a truck gun.
