.410 Sights

I was told by a gunsmith that the metal thickness was not enough to drill. He said the pressure might cause a catastrophic failure. The sights would mainly be for shooting slugs. I want my boys to understand aiming. With only a small front bead they really dont have anything to reference. Thanks for the reply.Comment

I don't think a shotgun would be the best tool to teach sight picture and sight alignment with, even a .410. There are plenty of good .22's that would probably be better suited to the job, and they are generally cheaper to shoot, unless you reload for the .410.Comment

Yeah, the .22 is great to start with.
As for the .410...
...If you have a friendly farmer's field,
one of those hand trap throwers cost about
$20 to $40. Lots of fun to shoot air targets!
They also make one that throws tin cans instead
of clay targets (don't make as much of a mess
on the ground).
