Henry Repeating Arms

I don't live in CA so I can own these. I hope no one minds that I'm posting about them.

I picked up my second Mare's Leg today and after changing the large loop and receiver cover I put the Apache Scope on it and sighted it in. I know the large loop and saddle ring receiver cover should be on them but the increased lever throw without a buttstock doesn't make them very user friendly. The way they are set up are for shootin' not for lookin'.



I put the large loop lever and saddle ring receiver on the rifle because it doesn't make as much difference. I've shot the top rifle but haven't sighted it in yet. The bottom rifle with the Weaver scope is sighted for 50 yards using HV LR.

I have the Rossi also in 357/38. The Rossi and Henrys are both great firearms.

Have you done any modifications to your Rossi? I trimmed some of the springs so it loads better and has an easier trigger but still fires every time. Steve's Gunz has a video on how and where to cut each spring.

Changed the follower, follower spring & front and rear sight like the you tube.

I got rid of the safety and put a bolt mounted peep sight in its place.

I've been thinking about a .44 Mag rifle to go along with my Super Blackhawk. I hear about the decline of Marlin quality after the Remington purchase, so unless I find good older 1894 Marlin, a Henry it will likely be.

I have a older Marlin 1894 in 44 mag, but thinking of adding another Marlin in 45 Colt to go with my Blackhawk.
