    semiauto 17?

What are the thoughts on a semiauto 17hmr? I picked one up off a VERY old guy and was told to hold onto it because it was valuable as it was not produced anymore. Its an IMMACULATE Excel Arms 17hmr 10 shot rifle. Stainless bull barrel with red dot and bipod. Does anyone know the value of such a rifle? It is not listed in any Newer gun list books I can find. It is SO pretty! I Still dont know how to upload pics here

They do not produce them anymore due to the pressures of the 17hmr round.
Good friends will come bail you out of jail. A best friend will be sitting next to you in the cell saying damn that was fun!

Everyone jumped on the bandwagon and built a .17HMR Rifle.
Then when they found out they couldnt make them work and they started damaging guns everyone stopped making them.
Some manufacturers offered to rebarrel them to chamber .22 mag, some offered buy backs.
Some people had no issues with their guns and chose to keep them.
I looked at excel arms for a .22 mag but no one I found would sell them except sight unseen on line.
I know Excel had issues with both their .17HMR and .22 WMR pistols.
I believe excel industries use to make the AMT line of firearms if I'm not mistaken.
They are or were located in southern Californis in the Inland Empire area.
      Try to Google Excel Industries.
