I Love Old Mossberg .22 Rifles

I have a 342 and 151M, both with scopes. The 151M is as old as I am (69), but shoots well. The 342 has a fold-down vertical foregrip, which is pretty cool.
    Both pre-serial number.

Me too me too! I just got a mossy and a kimber .22lr target rifles in the last year that are older than I am. and great value purchases.

So much fun! I'll have to get some pics up.

I have a 46b and just went through a box of various Mossberg sights I have and found a really cool diopter sight that has micrometer-click adjustments and a swing-away eye piece. It's a fun old tack-driver.

I have my father's Montgomery Wards Western Field. It dates to about '40 or '41. Mossberg made it and used the sight and hood from the Targo when they raided the parts bin. Also a tack driver. I added the Weaver scope when I was a kid.

        It's essentially a 26C with a few minor dfferences.

The build quality on these old rifles is really high, as they were not high end at the time. I just replaced the firing pin and smoothed burrs on the bolt of the 342. Once again functions well.
