we're going to stick with the same targets for February as we had for January. Again, back from days gone by, red-dot or non-magnified scope sights are lumped in with Iron sights for rifles just like they are in pistols. same Iron Sight targets to be used for this style sight.

Pistol: we'll use the same targets for both offhand and benchrest shooting.

15 yd - use target found here. shoot each bull 5 times, score accordingly.
25 yd - use target found here. shoot bull 10 times, score accordingly. Center 1" ring is 10, then 9, then 8, etc.

    Rifle:
25 yd iron sights: use target found here shoot each bull 3 times, score target accordingly.
50 yd iron sights: use target found here. shoot each bull 5 times, score accordingly.
100 yd irons: use target found here. shoot bull 10 times, score accordingly. center 1" ring is 10, then 9, then 8, etc.

50 yd scoped: use target found here. shoot each bull 3 times, score accordingly. center dot is 10, then 9, then 8, etc
100 yd scoped: use target found here. shoot bull 5 times, score accordingly. center white (including red dot) is 10, then red ring is 9, then 8, then 7, etc.

Shot a couple of targets today. First up, 100yd scoped target, Score-101. Shot with Savage 93r17, Hornady 17gr ammo, Weaver T-24 Target Scope. I screwed up on the last three shots. As the wind come up a little I noticed the rounds hitting to the right so adjusted the scope but instead of moving left I moved it right. Not that I would have done any better but sure need to pay more attention when adjusting the scope on the fly. Whoops, didn't notice that this months target was only to be shot 5 times. This target is VOID.

Also shot the 50yd scoped target, Score 193. Shot with CZ UltraLux, Eley Target ammo and Weaver 6.5-20x scope.

Spent an hour or so swapping scopes around and re-zeroing before I started shooting. Moving the T-24 to the Savage .17HMR seemed to pay off with a little more accuracy. Moved the Weaver 6.5-20X from another rifle to the CZ and that works as well as the T-24 did @ 5yds.

Went for a Kimber/Mossberg shoot today
            Took both my Kimbers out
one with apertures and one with a Weaver T36 target scope
Shot my Mossberg M44 with irons just for the hell of it and I haven't shot it in a while

            Untitled by usmcchet92_96, on Flickr

at 25 I shot 131 (almost a perfect group) with apertures and 114 with irons
at 50 I shot 63 with apertures, 57 with irons, and 177 scoped (damn you Izzy....you brought out your CZ)
at 100 I shot 50 with aperture and scope (still getting my scoped Kimber dialed in)

Shot the 100yd Scoped Target today (5 shots this time). Score-49. I shot 4 targets and they looked like copies of each other, pulled one shot everytime. Also thought I would post a picture of where I shoot and my bench set-up with my Savage 17HMR on board with new Mueller Eraticator Scope. Gonna be selling a couple of scopes soon.

Just wish I had a better table but the scenery is great. I have to watch out for the riders on their horses and I still don't know why they ride in an authorized shooting area.

Here's my offhand pistol targets. 15 yd was a 95. A disappointment though, because I drilled 5 tens on the first bull (knew it too) and blew it on the 2nd. 25 yd offhand was a 93. Lots of centerfire shooting this month. Next month I'll be starting in a .22 pistol league, so I'll have even less time for this match.

nice shooting guys! ShakyShoot, sorry to hear that life is getting busier for you as well. I had high hopes of having time to shoot again this month, but then my son start swim team again, both the school team as well as the year round club team; as a result, my weekends went down the drain. oh well.

usmcchet9296 - the 50 yd rifle targets were supposed to be shot 5 times / bull, not 3. I apologize for not catching this earlier, I wasn't watching the thread as much as I probably should have been.

                      Results:
Shakyshoot takes both pistol categories with a 95% on the 15 yd and a 93% on the 25 yd targets.
usmcchet9296 barely squeaks by izzy43 on the 25 yd rifle benchrest with a 109.17%
                      izzy43 takes the 50 yd scoped with a 107.22%
usmcchet9296 takes the 100 yd rifle aperture with a 100%
usmcchet9296 also barely squeaks by izzy43 on the 100 yd scoped target with a 100% here as well.

and, by 1 point on the 25 yd aperture rifle target usmcchet takes the overall monthly champion spot with his 109.17%. congrats!

Well I was hoping we would get more people to shoot
I mean I see all these great rigs out there
maybe we should add a tacticool match where people can shoot there AR/AK style rifles
there are a lot of people out there who have those but in reality can't compete with something like my bench rest rifle or Izzy's CZ

I would agree. As there are only a couple shooting the 100yd scope target (that I happen to like doing) and no one shooting the 100yd iron target perhaps those could be dropped (if others chime in and agree) and add a tactical type target @ 50 yds or perhaps a semi-auto only 25yd/50yd target(s) with scope limited to 9x max on the 25yd target.

Just my idea of how to maybe increase the number of shooters. And of course my idea is worth what you paid for it.

I wouldn't kill the 100 irons, I like shooting that, but yes we need to attract some tacticool shooters
