Is the Kel-Tec CMR 30 Legal here?

Its a carbine, so that's considered a rifle, right? Obviously, the magazine capacity would have to be limited. But, if that's possible, is it legal as is?

You'd need to do something about the collapsible stock(or install something to extend the barrel length). Check this thread:

Well, its seems like its doable, by KelTec. I like the idea of that carbine. I hope its not a jam-o-matic.

Overall length with the stock collapsed is 22.7", which makes it a SBR under CA SBR laws.

Overall length with the stock collapsed needs to be 26" or greater, in order to be CA legal.
This can be done by either fixing the collapsible stock in the open/extended position or by attaching a 4" or greater length muzzle device.

        Summary:
In order to be CA legal...
        1. The overall length needs to be increased to 26" or greater.
        2. Need 10 round magazines

It's 26" minimum outside of CA. California requires 30" minimum.

No, since the CMR-30 isn't centerfire it needs to follow the 26" minimum OAL, not 30".

The difference is that feds will measure with a stock extended, CA will measure with a stock in it's shortest position that allows firing.
