    10/22 trigger

    My wife and I started shooting rimfire matches with our 10/22. We both somtimes have problems with the stock reset. The 10/22 seems to have a much longer reset compared to our pistols. Any aftermarket triggers we should look at to achieve a shorter reset?

    We are not looking to reduce the trigger pull weight. All of our guns have over 5lbs pull currently.

    thanks !

    The offerings by Kidd are easily and arguably the best on the market.

            I am very happy with my Timney trigger. Much easier magazine release came with it also. Good luck!

              Hornet trigger assemblies are a good bang for the buck. They are crisp and not too pricey.

                  I don't know if it's allowed to suggest other forums... but, Rimfire Central has lots of good info on 10/22s (and other rimfire arms). Try Googling "Rimfire Central"...

                    Uh, yeah. That'll be 85 votes for Kidd, 10 for Brimstone, and 5 for other.

                      Raynman: the quality of the reset is a function of three things:

                      1. the profile and smoothness of the sear/disconnector engagement surfaces;
                      2. the amount of overtravel;
                      3. the smoothness of the trigger return plunger.

                      Items 1 and 3, as made by Ruger, are relatively rough. But they are easy to smooth out. You can put a smoother radius on the edges of the trigger return plunger which will both help reset and reduce pull weight (very slightly).

                      This article from my 10/22 blog describes how to improve factors 1 and 2: http://1022companion.wordpress.com/2...nd-overtravel/
