Savage 64 TRR-SR – FTF issues

I have a Savage Mk2 FV-SR and the magazines are crap from the factory. Mine required a needle nose pliers to "fix" the feed lips. (Mine being a bolt gun and yours a semi auto not withstanding)
Having tried other ammo to resolve your prob first, I would call Savage for another magazine under warranty of course.

BTW... when it runs right it should be popping dime size groups for you.

Thanks. I ended up calling it in this morning and I'll just say that Savage Arms customer service is excellent; up to par with Springfield Armory. They will send UPS to pick up the rifle at zero cost. I've tried a variety of ammo and they all seem to have a few failures to feeds. When it does feed properly, this gun shoots nice with excellent grouping results. I have the semi so I just want the darn thing to feed right.

TRR-SR is a great plinker. I would choose it anyday over similar bolt action.
I have used factory mags 5 or 10 rounders and never had any issues. Im sure savage will diagnose the issue. I have found the action to be very reliable

Nice. You got a good one. Is yours partial to good ammo only or does it like bulk ammo too? I agree, the action is solid and i love the trigger...
