    .22LR Colt M4 Ops Semi-Automatic Rifle

I posted this thread in the "gun discussions" section but thought it might get more responses in this section. Thoughts on this Colt? I am torn between the Colt and a DPMS Dedicated .22LR AP4 Upper to put on one of my lowers. Important for me are accuracy and reliablity. Thanks all.

I have one and like it. It's accurate and reliable. Mine eats any kind of ammo without any problems. My wife loves it so much she stole it from me.

I will warn you however, that it when you disassemble it you will be disappointed in the construction. It has a barrel insert inside that is just sorry looking. All in all, I like mine just fine and shoot it often but for the amount of money they cost, there are probably better options.

I don't own one like dpop does and their point above is exactly why I never would. While it might be a little bit better than the Mossberg 715T these low end look alikes are pretty much nothing more than cast internals shoved into an airsoft body.

I have one, PITA to clean. I prefer an AR with a .22LR bolt.

          Id go with the DMPS
better built and more accurate and reliable
I have a JP and DMPS which use the same bolt for 2-Gun competitions and they run better than even the 10/22s
          Don't get a pot metal POS Unmarx/Colt

I love my S&W 15-22 MOE. Shoots great, controls are same as an AR, a snap to clean.

My 795 is fine. I could buy three for the price of one of those AR clones.

Good on ya for going dedicated upper. You will get the same feel as you normal ar setup, much better construction, and easier to clean.

and if Marlin made a 795 full-sized rifle that would make a great trainer but they don't so ill send the 3 times more and buy a AR22 upper.

Throw one in a Boyds stock and its fullsize.. but I agree, its still not an AR style or a trainer... But it sure beats the Mossberg 715T which is just a crappy Mossberg Plinkster shoved into a plastic shell, so thats not a trainer either but a look alike.

Everyone knows I love the Marlin 795 but if you want an AR trainer the best options IMO are a dedicated upper, the S&W 15-22 or a drop in bolt IMO. The other options just don't work as real trainers.
