Why Match Ammo is more $$$ and More Accurate

Interesting read on production of Eley Tenex match .22lr ammo.

You don't have to be an Olympic shooter to appreciate Eley's excellent rimfire ammunition.

Eley has a range in Texas. You can send your rifle or go with it to their range. The techs will shoot different lots and different loaders (I believe there are 6 machines) to find which ammo shoots the best with your gun. My Falcon has been there, (before I owned it) they are great folks. The ammo is expensive but worth every hole.

Wonder how much engineering goes into a bucket of GBs.

                  Interesting.

Wish they still made the 17 HM2 though, thats a very cool round.

                      .22LR ammo

Really .. If you are interested in taking the .22LR shooting to the next level.... You really ought to get Rifleman's Guide to Rimfire Ammunition

There is a lot that goes into making America's favorite ammo!

Great article, now I will know what went into my Eley EPS black box match ammo. I have yet to shoot it in my CZ 452. SK standard plus has been the best so far.

Eley Tenex compared to Rem GBs is like comparing a Porsche to Honda. Hondas are good cars but Porsches are in an entirely different category. One of the most interesting aspects of the Eley process for me was the QC on the bullets. I doubt that ever happens on any bulk ammo.

                              Great read!

This It also tells you why you often get better accuracy from loading your own:
                              Consistency of the load.
