Ruger Mark III Target or Competition

Is it possible to SSE either the Ruger Mark III Target or Competition Pistol?

If so, is there a gun store in the Sacramento area that does it?

    Thank you.

Anything is possible. I don't know if anyone in Sac is doing them or not but, I know it is and has been done.

Just picked up a Comp last Saturday. The place I've been doing my SSE's actually had one in stock. You can order either online and have it shipped direct to a FFL that is doing SSE's. I'm down in SoCal so I can't help you with who is doing them up in your area. The clock is ticking on SSEs so you need to move in a hurry.

Never heard of anyone making a barrel for the rugers. Only those already with 6" barrels would be possible, which would be one of the easiest sse's, any ffl can do it

OC Armory is who I've been dealing with for SSE's. Great shop. I have two more lined up & paid for. They will probably get all my business even after 12/31/14. Worth the drive, even from the SFV.

The Hunter and the competition can both be SSE'd because they have a 6"+ barrel and an overall length of 11"+. All that needs to be done ins to remove the magazine disconnector and spring and replace them with a Tandemkross mag disconnect bushing. After that, remove the lower grip screw and install a 1/2" #6-40 screw to block the magwell. Simple as that! THe problem is finding one. It took a couple months for Davidson's to get one.

Just did a Hunter model with my FFL yesterday...

There's a FFL in Sunnyvale that's doing a SSE on a hunter for me. Let me know if you need his info.

very nice! if you look closely at the trigger, it has been modified. dont ask, think the gunsmith is long gone by now.

I wish the 22/45 Lite was easily available, I'd like to pick one up and pin an aluminum comp onto it

Thanks! I got the Hunter BNIB via SSE and the Target used from a CG member. He said it had a VQ bushing in it and I figured with the silver trigger it must be an upgrade too. I will tel them both out for the first time tomorrow.
