    77/22 Allweather light weight

Hoping someone can help me with this project.
I have an allweather 77/22lr. I want to change the stock and do some other upgrades but from what I have been told to change the stock I will need and "old style" 77/22 trigger guard. The service department at Ruger tells me that in 2003 the Allweather was upgraded with its own trigger guard.
The service guy said that I would have to find the trigger guard online as they have been discontinued for some time.
I found this thread on ArfCom. http://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.ht...&f=11&t=360231 This guys rifle looks identical to mine with the exception that mine is an ALL stainless model.
In comparing the trigger guard that he bought from midway it looks identical to the guard I bought from Brownells.
Can someone help with firsthand knowledge of the exact parts I need?
Thanks for any and all help.

Just wanted to update this thread in the event that others are interested in changing their boat paddle to an aftermarket stock.
After several calls to ruger I finally got a guy in customer service that gave me a straight answer. Turns out ruger discourages the end user from doing work/upgrades to "their" firearms.
In a nutshell the post 2003 changes that the 77/22 underwent was a change to the barrel. As many already know the barrel screws in instead of using the v-block. The other change was that the synthetic stock version does not utilize an integrated trigger guard.
Turns out that the newer trigger guard is not "newer" at all.
So, turns out all I need is a brushed stainless trigger guard. Finding that one is proving easier said than done.

Glad you got the info you needed. If you need help with finding that trigger guard or any other info about rimfires in general you might want to check out Rimfire Central.

There is a ton of rimfire knowledge on that site. Good luck!

While you are at RFC, look in the CZ/Brno section and check the CZ's out. You may want to trade the 77/22 in on a firearm that doesn't need any changes and will out shoot the 77/22 for half the price.

You are correct! I called Ruger and they have one for sale. Problem is its about $250 just for the brushed version.
