    Remington Viper (ammunition) Experiences ?????

Anyone have any first-hand experience with Remington Viper .22LR Ammo?
    The semi-wadcutter pill looks interesting.
I would appreciate input from people who have actually used it. Thanks.

I have an SA 1911 in the loaded target config. I sometimes use a Marvel precision .22 kit on it.

With a very heavy mainspring (27 lb), I was having trouble finding .22lr ammo that would work that stiff mainspring. The viper did it in spades.

Very accurate through that pistol, and it ran through the gun like water through a sieve.... Also worked just as well in a cz sp-01 with a kadet kit installed.

I'd buy more if I could find it.
    Tire kickers gonna kick,
    Nose pickers gonna pick

I shot a bit of Viper in the old days from my 10-22s (ate it right up) and my old Nylon 66 (worked fine)---do they still make this ammo? Haven't seen any in years…
The only handguns I shoot the Viper were single-action revolvers and it worked fine in those as well...

My local Walmart has that stuff in stock this morning. Expensive and I will pass because of that and it just puts unneeded stress on the Firearm in my opinion for really no gain...Accuracy will suffer too.

I do not think any Firearms manufacturer would recommend its use. May be alright in a Bolt action. But I would never use it in a semi auto.

Maybe in a revolver, but even then I would not put the unnecessary stress on it personally..

All just my opinion. Take it for what it is.
