    .22lr shootout with Sig 522

Basically here are the results of some ammo going through my rifle at 25 yards indoors.

Top left "5" - Blazer Lead point

bottom left "5" , center "5 and 8"- remington Subsonic HP

center "10", center "9" top right "5" bottom right "5" - CCI Mini Mags 36gr HP

Center 9 was the first grouping of CCI with multiple rounds going through the same hole but the range was blazing hot and sweat got the better of me on 10 and 5 but overall i'd say CCI is sweet as can be.

And if any one is curious the data box on the top left is iron sights with my M400 at the same distance with American Eagle XM193 5.56. Damn I love that stick!!!

Sweet! Take it out to 100 yards and post the results.
    Nice looking rifle.

So just an update to this post.

I know that my original post was more about accuracy than reliability but didn't want to start another post so here goes.

I've put about 500 more rounds of each of the above rounds plus a few other brands at standard velocity as a test to the Sig 522 only (I don't own any other 22lr firearms as of yet other than my P226 conversion for my handgun) and my results have shown that anything over 1100FPS has zero problem cycling the action. Anything standard velocity would be approximately 1 out of 20 would stove pipe or FTE if you all consider those to be two different categories. Other than that I've had zero issues with High Velocity rounds and the Sig just eats it all up. I'm looking to get the Colt M4 OPS for specific AR training because of the weight as opposed to the M&P 15-22 and will be running the same test and will post the results.

As a side note I cannot stress how AWESOME the Sig 522 is as a rifle. Its quality in the price range is unmatched. Depending on the configuration they can be had from between 499.00 and 599.00 depending on where you buy and couple that with coupons and/or killer sales online you could almost walk out with this metal upper rifle for around 400.00! And yes since Sig covers 99% of the firearms I own the quality of Sig does not fail when it comes to this rifle.

I have been considering the HK 416 in .22lr as I prefer metal rifles as opposed to polymer (yes I know the sig lower is polymer) but the actual barrel of the HK sits inside a fake barrel just like my airsoft rifles and just doesn't seem like it would be very accurate as it wobbles inside the fake barrel. I can't speak to its quality otherwise because I haven't actually held it but nonetheless it does seem like a pretty fun gun to shoot.

Anyway. Not sure this is helpful to anyone other than Sig owners that may have issues with rounds going through their gun but I say just maintain and lubricate and enjoy the quality and reliability that come with this Sig rifle!

I had one of these. They are indeed very accurate and reliable rifles. I wound up selling mine because I was just as happy shooting my 10/22 (which I had dressed up in tacticool configuration at the time), and couldn't justify having multiple .22lr tacticool setups.

Get one of those nomad g36 stocks and a 10/22 I was watching a youtube video on how to install a sbx barrel into the nomad. Looked cool.

I have more fun with my 522 every time I go out with it. Seems to really like the Norma TAC22 (out of clean bbl).

              10 rounds @ 27 yds.
