Question regarding 22 magnum Critical Defense ammo

I have recently had two individuals tell me that .22 magnum Critical Defense ammo ought not to be fired in a North American Arms 22 magnum mini revolver due to excessive pressures which might damage the firearm.

On the other hand, I have found no warnings on the ammo box and it is difficult for me to believe that this ammo would not be safe in the modern firearms for which it was designed.

Have any mini-revolver owners fired Critical Defense or V-max ammo in their firearms and noticed any troubling signs?

Critical Defense ammo...... if it's a critical problem I'ld rather have a gun with more knock down power. And if the pressure is high enough to damage the little revolver, think about the damage to your hand.. or face..

NAA has a list of ammo they don't recommend you use, contact them.

Good advice. I contacted North American Arms. Here is their response:

Both Hornady ammunitions that you mentioned are perfectly acceptable for use in North American Arms firearms.

Thank you and have a great day!

if you are thinking about defensive 22mag ammo from a short barrel check out shooting the bull 410 on youtube. He tested a bunch of ammo and I think the best was cci maxi mag. Nothing expands out of a short barrel, but maxi mag actually made it through 12 inches of ballistic gel consistently.
