I installed a volquertson auto bolt release on my 10/22. The problem is now the bolt will not lock back at all. Anyone ever run into this???

weird how could the bolt go over the catch as you push it up i'm baffled

holding the bolt back depressing the lever then releasing the bolt doesnt hold it back?

The problem lies in that all but two of the aftermarket "auto release" bolt locks still have that darned slot instead of a proper pivot hole where the pin holds it into the trigger housing. The result is that you have to fish around until you can get the lock to hold. I use both the Rimfire Technology and the Kidd bolt locks, and they both have a round pivot hole, so the lock easily and release just as easily. The Kidd gets my mark for the best quality, it's stainless steel, and drops right in, which the R/T will not unless you file the part or use their smaller hammer bushings.

Holding the bolt back and pressing the lever does nothing.
