Hey CG, was visiting with my parents last night when my Dad decided to dig out his Remington 511 that his Father had given him back in the 40's when he was in high school.
The gun hasn't been shot for probably 40 years, it is well used but not abused. The bolt is a little sticky but not bad and moves smoothly after a little nudge.
I need to clean this thing up and get it out to the range. I don't want to disassemble unless it's absolutely necessary as by most reports that can be a difficult process for a newb.
The barrel could use a little love as well, there is no rust but 40 years of being in the attic uncased has dulled the bluing substantially.
Any advice on cleaning up the bolt, barrel and inner components would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
