Just picked up a Hk mp5 .22 and im wondering if this is normal. Was cycling some rounds through it and noticed they were not reliably getting grabbed by the bolt/extractor when i pull it back. So i looked inside the chamber and noticed what looked like a very rough piece of metal sticking out. Almost looks like the tip is broken off? Being im only hand cycling the rounds im not sure if i should even take it to the range. Keep in mind i just picked this thing up from the ammo bros a few days ago.

I've put around 5000 rounds through mine and it looks like this . Hope this helps.Attached Files -
Mine sure doesnt have a nice smooth squared off end like yours does..mine looks jagged. Dont know if that would cause the bolt to not latch on to the rim for extraction.Comment

Ammo bros gunsmith said its pretty normal for a rimfire to not eject right when hand cycling ammo due to the blow back design. He test fired 9 rounds and it worked flawlessly. If anyone can confirm it doesn't cycle rounds when done by hand..id like to make sure, though...because its hard to eject a live round for safety reasons.Last edited by Leon DeGamme; 08-25-2014, 4:14 PM.Comment
