magnifying optics for my Ruger 22/45

I was going to purchase a Bushnell Trophy TR-25 for my 22/45, but I do a lot of 50 yd. shooting and would prefer a optic with magnification.

I still want a compact unit as well .... any recommendations ?

Here's a link to some comments/suggestions about pistol scopes: http://www.practicalmachinist.com/vb...-scope-188108/

I suggest you stay away from BSA or Barska. Also take note of the post about "will make you seasick".

I don't own any pistol scopes but in the low priced arena for scopes Simmons aren't too bad. I do know that the more you spend on optics, the happier you will be in the long run. Been down the cheap Chinese scope road, now I only own Weavers or Vortex scopes. Couldn't be happier unless I could afford Leupold.

What is it that you're shooting at 50 yards, paper or steel? At 3moa, the TRS-25 would be fine for both.

I had an old MKIII Target that I chased steel and paper with at 75 yards.

Very nice pistol! I'm looking to put together something just like that.

Thanks, Geo. I no longer have the pistol, but I had a ridiculous amount of work in it.
