    Which front sight?

I just bought my brother in law a Buck Mark Standard Stainless URX for his birthday. His son helped pick it out because the grips are awesome (especially for bigger hands) and love the look with the stainless slabside barrel.

Of course the 10 day waiting period only makes me keep thinking that I should get a fiber optic front sight to compliment the stock Pro-Target sight before I give it to him. I have no experience with fiber optic sights on pistols so wanted to get some additional information.

He will primarily use it for training/target shooting so is it worth changing out or is it better to just use the stock sight? Also, I understand that green is easier to see at dusk, but wanted to see if others with more experience have a preference between green or red. Lastly, are there any brands that perform better than others?

    TIA

I have the HiViz green on several guns and red on 1.
    I prefer the green.

the whole red/green thing really depends on the size, if the fiber optic tube is too big it tends to blur everything else IMHO.

my favorite sight combination on any handgun is a blacked out read with a red 1 mm FO front.

Thanks for all the input! I might have him try it stock first and have him look at both the hi-viz and fire sights to see which best fits his needs.

Scar, if you are near the east bay area (walnut creek, pleasant hill, concord etc), you can come by and have a peak.

Snypr, thank you very much for the offer; it's greatly appreciated! My BIL is south of you so it might be difficult for us to coordinate that, but I'll PM you if we plan on being up that way.
